Please Pray for Us

As some of you who follow me may know, a couple of years ago my wife and I began caring for my parents who were in their nineties. We wanted to be a blessing to them.

Last March, my father went home to be with the Lord. He had cancer. He passed peacefully in his sleep.

At this point we’re caring for my mother. She’s 91 and has dementia which seems to be progressing rapidly.

Recently, she fainted multiple times, causing us to call 911. They admitted her into the hospital, where she immediately began hallucinating. They found some issues with her heart and are currently trying to stabilize her.

The problem is that she will probably be too weak to walk when this is over. Our hope is to get her into a rehab facility. Then, we want to continue caring for her at home.

This may require hospice services since she may need 24-hour care. The big issue is that her dementia makes her unaware that she is no longer capable of walking around and caring for herself the way she used to.

Currently, we’re in the process of changing the setup of our home to make it a safe place for her. It requires a lot of time and effort.

The reason I’m sharing this is so that first of all, you can pray for our family to have the grace to weather this season.

Secondly, I needed to explain this because I am temporarily suspending this blog so that I can prioritize my needs at home. I’m sure you will understand this.

So, for I while, I will no longer be publishing these posts. Please keep us in your prayers, and may God continue to bless you.

Quartermaster Ministry Announcement

I don’t know if you noticed, but there’s been a recent change in this blog.  I’ve upgraded it from the free WordPress site to a premium site.

That means that I have my own domain now.  It’s quartemasterministries.com.  Hopefully, those of you who subscribe to my blog didn’t see any interruptions.  It was supposed to be seamless.

There are a number of reasons for this change.  The first being that I’ve been feeling God’s leading to do this for quite some time.  I’ve simply been nervous about “pulling the trigger.”

Now that it’s accomplished, there are some improvements I can make.  I can now upload audio and video messages to the site.  This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

I can also put a donations button on my site.  I’ve been hesitant to do that even though the Holy Spirit has been pressuring me in that direction for a long while.  Now this will be an option for anyone who feels led to support this ministry.

My goal is that this ministry can continue to be a blessing to those who hear it.  I’m looking forward to an increase in effectiveness as I follow the Lord’s leading.

I ask that you continue to pray for this outreach.  My desire is to be a source of scriptural understanding, strengthening, and encouragement to the body of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thanks to all of you for your support – both spiritual and physical.  May God’s richest blessing be upon all His people.  Amen!

Apologies

Good morning!

I need to apologize for a couple of mess-ups that you may have noticed.

Over the past week or so there was a day when no post was published.  Then, this morning, two appeared at the same time.

Usually, I check to make sure everything is being published in order.  That didn’t happen as planned.  But I have now taken care of the situation.

The New Direction post should not have published until Monday.  It’s been redirected to do that.  So if you try and access it, it will be unavailable until then.

The missing post will be scheduled to publish on Friday even though it will be out of order with the rest of the First Corinthians Series.

Monday, when the New Direction article is republished, everything should be back on track.

Again, I apologize for the mix-up and any confusion it may have caused.

Lately, God has been pushing me to expand my ministry.  I’m doing new things and going to new places!  One of the areas God is stretching me into is the launch of a newsletter.

It will appear once or twice a month with articles about what God is doing in our generation.  There will also be updates on what I’m doing and where I’m going.  There will be prayer requests as well.

Missions Opportunity

indonesiaI want to share some exciting news with you about a great opportunity that’s opened up for me.

I’m on the leadership team for our association in the Southern Baptist Convention. Recently we received a call from some Christian believers in the nation of Indonesia.

The original missionaries to Indonesia came from the Boston area. They were martyred for their faith. Now a group of Christians from that country are asking if there are any churches in the Boston area that are willing to help them plant a church right now on the island of Sumatra. We felt God’s unmistakable leading to answer that call.

I will be part of a team that’s taking some Boston area pastors on a Vision Trip to see the work being done and to meet the church planters involved. Our goal is to form a solid partnership between our churches and these missionaries.

In order to make this trip, I will need to raise about $2000 for transportation and other expenses. I would ask you to pray about whether the Lord would want you to help out financially.

If you can’t donate money, then I ask you to support this work in your prayers. We want to see a huge impact for Christ in this part of the world.

We will be leaving January 14-29, 2017, so it’s important that I raise my support as soon as possible.

Any money that comes in above the needed amount will be used for future mission trips that the Lord has on my horizons.

I believe that this partnership could change thousands of lives for eternity. I would be very grateful for your support and prayers.

April was a busy month

Last month I had a great time in the back woods of New York. I was a part of the leadership team running a convention for Christian high school students. It’s always refreshing to see the passion and enthusiasm that young people have for the things of God. My desire is to see that same zeal for Christ spill over into the lives of adults.

I’ve also been continuing to renew my ministry and my focus in God’s presence. My desire remains to see God’s people move into revival.

God has placed His message in my heart. I am seeking to bring this Word of encouragement to any congregation or group who will invite me. It’s time for God to once again move upon His people through a series of special meetings. I know that this runs counter to our busy society, but the rewards in Christ are tremendous. I’m beginning to see the fruit of this calling.

Prayer for the Ministry

I ask that you stand with me in the place of prayer.

Pray for doors of ministry to open up for us to bring the message of revival to the church.

Pray for us to be effective in the field God has given us.

Pray for the resources and finances to come in so that we can bring God’s Word to places that can’t afford to pay our way to them. Specifically, I have been invited to minister in other countries, but at this time lack the money to get there.

A New Life Begins

As many of you know, my church is no longer meeting on Sunday mornings. This means that I have now begun a new season in my life.

I took the month of January to pray, fast, and refocus my direction. I want to make sure that my steps are ordered by the Lord.

In February, I began to actively seek speaking engagements. I’ve contacted some pastors who I’m in relationship with and received a very positive response.

Because of church schedules, being what they are, I will probably begin going to churches around May or June. However, I’m available right now. Please pray for me that the doors of ministry will open up soon in these areas.

The unique message of revival that the Lord has given me is needed in our generation. God wants to prepare His people for a new move of His Spirit.

I’ve added a Speaking Page to the website. It explains the scope of my message, as well as my availability and itinerary.

Prayer for the Ministry

Now that I’m walking in this new adventure, I’m in need of your help.

The first and greatest need is for you to come alongside us in the spirit, and pray for us. Pray for us to be effective in the field God has given us. Pray for doors of opportunity to open up for us to bring this message of revival to those who are ready to receive. Without the power of the Lord at work in us, we will never accomplish our destiny.

My New Book on Kindle

I have always been an avid hiker. I’ve had some of my best times with the Lord along the trail. As I’ve been out in the wild, meditating on the Word, I’ve received some beautiful thoughts from the Lord. That’s the subject of this book.

It contains nine months of daily devotions for hikers on the trail. Nine months is about how long it takes to walk one of the major long distance trails in the USA.

I want it to be easy for hikers to take it on their Pads or Smartphones. Or they can just print off a few pages at a time and use them on shorter trips.

Stepping Out in a New Phase of Ministry

Many of you know that I’m a Senior Pastor in Watertown, MA.  Because of a series of events, our church has now become a home Bible study on Wednesday nights.  For a few years now, God has been preparing me to step out in a traveling ministry.  I believe that this is the push that I needed to get me started in that direction.

New Book Now Available on Amazon

Jesus Speaks ThumbnailI am pleased to announce that my new book, Jesus Speaks to Pastors – Finding the “Lost” Letters of Christ is now for sale on Amazon.  This book is written for pastors and church leaders, to encourage them in the ministry.  It’s taken from the book of Revelation, chapters 2-3.

In that section of Scripture, Jesus dictates seven letters to specific pastors.  Because we have misinterpreted them as being written to churches, we have lost a great deal of valuable truth concerning our ministries.

The Kindle version should be released soon.

New Book Now Available on Amazon

I am pleased to announce that my book, Breaking Free from the Pack – Developing a Spirit of Excellence is now for sale on Amazon.  This is a book I originally wrote a few years ago.  I have now revised and expanded it.  There is a Kindle version available as well.

The purpose of this book is to help all believers, especially those in leadership positions, to live a life of spiritual excellence.  This requires certain mindsets and disciplines.  The response to this book, and the Excellence Seminar that it comes from, is overwhelmingly positive.  I’m not exaggerating when I say that this book will change your life.

With the re-launch of this book I’m starting a new Recommended Reading page where you can see some of the books that have had a positive impact on my life.  They will be linked to Amazon so that you can get them if you so desire.

I’m also developing a Speaker Page.  God has been calling me to become more public with my teaching ministry.  This page will explain the seminars and my availability.  I’m looking forward to more travel as the Lord opens doors to proclaim His Word.  It’s my desire to help prepare God’s people for the revival that I believe is imminent in this nation.

Quartermaster Ministries August Newsletter

Dedicated to Walking in Revival!

In last month’s newsletter I talked about the new things that God is doing in our ministry.  The growth continues.

I took a couple weeks of vacation this month, so there’s not much to report.  I did get a lot of rest and that helps to get my spirit ready for what’s ahead.

Revised and Expanded E-Book

I’m pleased to announce that I have just finished updating and expanding my book – “Breaking Free from the Pack – Developing a Spirit of Excellence.”  My first step is to release it in the Kindle format on Amazon.  That should be ready in a few days – keep looking for it and I’ll announce its release on my blog.

Church News

Just this week a church building went up for sale in our town.  Many of you know that right now our church meets in a school auditorium.  Needless to say, we went out to look at the site.

As I walked around the interior, I was struck by the fact that it is exactly what we need at this time.  The problem – the cost is so far above what we could handle.  Only a miracle of God could get us into the building.

So we’re praying for wisdom.  Please pray with us and for us that we would see God’s leading.  We want to know God’s will – either to pursue this and see His supernatural provision, or to let it go and wait for another season.

Prayer Walking with Randy Sprinkle

Almost a year ago I reviewed the book Follow Me – Becoming a Lifestyle Prayerwalker by Randy Sprinkle.  He is a personal friend and I believe that his message is vital to the body of Christ.

Recently, he has revised the book and the new edition has been published.  I encourage anyone who wants to see God’s hand at work in their neighborhoods to read this book.  Click here to go to the book on Amazon.

As always, our desire is to see the body of Christ built up.  We want revival fires to sweep this nation.  Our prayer is that everyone who is touched by our ministry will be strengthened and encouraged for the work God has called them to accomplish.
