Announcing My New Book – The Third Watch

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve finally finished working on my latest book. It’s titled The Third Watch: It’s Later Than You Think.

I believe that it’s a ground-breaking book on the Second Coming of Christ. It’s unlike any other that I’ve ever read.

Many years ago I sought the Lord concerning His coming. I was confused by all the different teachings. I asked Him to make it clear to me from the Scripture.

In answer to my prayer, the Holy Spirit gave me a personal course of study that changed my life. He impressed me to take all of the teachings of Christ concerning the Last-Days, and study them in the order in which He taught them to His disciples. The result was clarity of insight that I’d never had before.

I believe that anyone who’s serious about understanding the coming of the Lord needs to read this book. I go through each teaching session that Jesus had with His disciples and put it together, line upon line, and precept upon precept.

Then, with the foundation of Christ, I look at the teachings of the Apostles. It’s amazing how closely they align with what Jesus taught. Finally, I look at the book of the Revelation.

One word of caution – by the end of the book there will be no doubt as to what Jesus and His disciples taught. I try my best to let the Scripture speak for itself. Because of that, any teaching that’s not of the Lord must fall by the wayside.

I ended up changing my whole view of the end-times. I firmly believe that this book will prepare you for the greatest chapter in church history. But you have to come at it with an open heart and an open mind.

There are many who are worried about what lies ahead of us before the return of Christ. Since I’ve been preaching this message, I’ve seen believers set free from the fear of the future. The truth is that there’s nothing to fear and everything to look forward to.

New Book – The Truth About Power

CoverThe following is an excerpt from the introduction to my new book, The Truth about Power.

Where is the manifestation of the power of God in the church today? I believe that this is one of the most important questions that we can ask in this generation. Where’s the power?

As I look out over the church, it grieves me to see the state of utter powerlessness that we accept as normal. I read the Book of Acts and see the heathen world shaken by the testimony of the saints. Healing, prophecy, and the raising of the dead were common events. When I think about what it was like in the early days of Christianity, I’m struck by just how far we’ve fallen. Where’s the power?

I think about the days of revival that have burned throughout this nation’s history. From Azuza Street to the Charismatic Renewal, there have been many outpourings of God’s strength. How did we lose what was gained? Why are there so few churches that portray the full ministry of Jesus? It drives me to my knees to find out why we’re so far from the ideal that the Lord has set before our eyes. Where’s the power?

Please understand; I’m not so foolish as to think that God has left us. I don’t believe that He’s stopped working on the earth. On the contrary, I believe that if there’s a problem, it rests on the human side of the equation. My quest is to find the solution for that problem.

I began to study the Scripture concerning power, and was amazed at the way the physical world shadowed our life in the Spirit. However, it didn’t stop there. As I continued to search the Word, God started dealing with me about the major issues that are hindering the flow of His power through us. These hindrances include attitudes and teachings that we’ve allowed to creep into the church. Many of them sound good on the surface, but they are essentially short circuiting the power of God in our lives. Sometimes the most well-meaning people can do the most damage.

We’ve become very adept at explaining away and excusing our lack of power. We proclaim that we want to see the power of God at work. Unfortunately, as the saying goes, we cannot continue to do the same things and expect different results. That’s insanity. If we’re to experience a new result, we must step out in a new direction. Hopefully this book will provide that catalyst for change.

One quick disclaimer – I don’t want you to think more highly of me than you should. While I believe the truths outlined in this book will ultimately lead to a greater flow of the power of Christ in us, I’m not there yet. I’m only beginning to apply these concepts to my walk with God. I have to struggle with the same old thought patterns that need to be broken. Understanding the truth and walking in it are two different things entirely. It takes time for our walk to come up to the level of our understanding. But it’s my goal to attain to this high calling that God has given me.

I invite you to join me on this journey to discover why there’s so little power in the American church today – and more than that – how to find the river and flow in it once again. May God the Father abundantly bless and anoint you as you read this book.

Follow Me – Book Review

“My neighborhood is in total spiritual darkness and there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Have you ever felt like that?  Do you see the enemy’s kingdom taking over your town, your schools or your local businesses?  Do you feel helpless?  There is an answer.

I was having breakfast with a friend of mine by the name of Dr. Randy Sprinkle.  During the course of our conversation, he told me about a book he had written.  The title was Follow Me – Becoming a Lifestyle Prayerwalker.

I knew about prayerwalking.  My church had been involved in it for a couple of years.  We talked about it for a little while.  Later on, he gave me a copy of his book.  I thanked him, knowing that part of his ministry was going to churches and teaching on prayerwalking.

I must admit that the book lay on my shelf a while before I began to read it.  Now that I’ve read it, I wish I had done so sooner.  The book is absolutely life-changing.

It’s one of those “must read” books.  Every believer needs to grab hold of the principles taught in these pages.  That is especially true if we want to see the power of God manifest in our cities.

The book is just over 120 pages.  But don’t expect to get through it in one sitting.  It wasn’t designed for that.  It’s written in the form of six weeks of 5 daily devotions.  That’s why it can change your life.

Each day it starts with prayer.  Then it’s followed by reading the Scripture, meditating on it, and getting some teaching.  Next, it helps you to plan how you are going to implement what you just learned as you go throughout your day.  The last part of each daily segment is an evening reflection that asks you think about what you did during the day.  It’s a very powerful plan.

This book is well written and keeps you interested.  Dr. Sprinkle gives teaching, examples, testimonies, and encouragement.  I looked forward to my time in this book each day.

The fact is that we need to be a people of prayer.  Not the “hands off” kind that keeps a safe distance from the ones in need.  We need to be out praying on our streets.  That’s how we win the spiritual battle for the souls around us.

We need to stop looking for someone else to do the work.  Wherever you live, you are called to intercede.  This book will equip you with everything you need to bring spiritual change to your area.

In Dr. Sprinkle’s words, prayerwalking is a “strategic, world-transforming activity that calls believers out of church buildings to intercede for the work of the kingdom while quietly walking through local neighborhoods and mission fields around the world.”

The book is available on Amazon.  Click here to order Follow Me: Becoming a Lifestyle Prayerwalker.

Question: Have read this book?  How has it helped you?  Have you seen any results?
